Stockton, Calif. - Sophomore setter Mia Pimentel led the Falcons to a sweep (25-20, 25-11, 25-19) of Gavilan in day one of the Delta Classic followed by a four-set win (22-25, 25-17, 25-21, 25-21) over Shasta on Friday afternoon.
Pimentel recorded 24 assists and 10 digs, while sophomore middle blocker Destiny Greenwood paced the Solano offense with 16 kills, adding six blocks in the first match. Greenwood added a 13 kill and six block effort in the second contest
Freshman libero Kailyn Kaiser added 18 digs and four aces, remaining errorless at the service line. And freshman Tiarra Fukuda posted a solid all-around day with five kills, eight digs, and six aces. Freshman Allora Somontan earned 10 kills against Shasta
The Falcons (5-3) continue play at the Delta Classic on Saturday, Sept. 8 at 11 a.m. against Fresno City.
