Solano College Baseball Honored with Bay Valley Conference Scholar Team Award Nomination
FAIRFIELD, Calif. — Solano College’s Baseball program has been recognized for its excellence both on the field and in the classroom, earning a nomination for the Bay Valley College Conference Scholar Team Award.
The Scholar Team Award is one of the highest academic honors presented by the 3C2A, recognizing teams that demonstrate exceptional achievement in both scholarship and athletic competition. To qualify, teams must achieve a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0, with at least 80% of student-athletes enrolled full-time, and must complete a successful competitive season.
Solano Baseball excelled well beyond those standards, boasting a cumulative team GPA of 3.50 across 35 student-athletes during the 2024–25 academic year. The team’s consistent commitment to academic excellence reflects the college’s emphasis on the student-athlete model—balancing rigorous coursework with athletic dedication.
Athletic Director Alison Aubert, who submitted the nomination on behalf of the program, praised the team’s focus and discipline:
“This group has set the standard for what it means to be a student-athlete at Solano. Their ability to maintain one of the highest team GPAs in the conference while competing at a high level is something we’re incredibly proud of.”
The BVC Scholar Team Award winners will be announced at the annual spring 3C2A Convention, where one team per sport across California community colleges will be recognized for outstanding academic and athletic performance.
Solano’s nomination represents not only academic excellence but also the dedication of student-athletes who continue to uphold the college’s values of perseverance, teamwork, and achievement—both in the classroom and on the diamond.
