Solano Men’s Tennis Falls in Heartbreaker to Folsom Lake, 5-4

The Solano Community College men’s tennis team battled down to the wire Tuesday afternoon but came up just short in a 5-4 loss to Folsom Lake College.
With nearly identical WTN ratings, the match lived up to expectations as a tightly contested conference showdown.
Falcons Take Early Edge in Doubles
Solano jumped out to a 2-1 lead after doubles play with strong performances at the top of the lineup:

The Falcons’ dominant win at No. 1 doubles set the tone, while the narrow tiebreak loss at No. 3 proved pivotal in the overall team outcome.
Singles Split Decides the Match
Folsom Lake rallied in singles play, winning four of six matches to clinch the 5-4 victory.

The most dramatic match of the day came at #1 singles, where C. Yanez pushed S. Hamilton to three sets before falling 7-5, 4-6, 6-1.
At #6 singles, A. Netro also battled to a third set but was edged 6-0, 4-6, 6-1.
Despite strong efforts across the lineup, including competitive showings at the top and bottom positions, the Falcons were unable to overcome Folsom Lake’s four singles victories.
