San Mateo, Calif. - The Solano softball team was edged by non-conference foe San Mateo, 5-1, on Saturday afternoon.
The Falcons struck first to open the game, as freshman third baseman Daniella Harper counted one of the team's three hits, while capturing the lone RBI.
Freshman Maleah Martinez was charged with the complete-game loss, allowing seven hits, while fanning nine.
Solano (8-15) resume BVC play, hosting Yuba on Tuesday, Mar. 29 beginning at 12 p.m.
