Bio

Former Alumna, Elizabeth Roark, played for Solano College in 2016-18 for previous Head Coach, Matt Borchert. After two great years at Solano, she accumulated many achievements such as; “All-Tournament” at the E.O.S. Riverside Tourney, “Player of the Year” voted by her teammates, as well as being a part of a Conference Championship all in the season of 2016-17. Her sophomore year, she received “All-Tournament” at the Solano Showdown Tourney, and was named an “All-Conference” player in the Bay Valley Conference. Academically, Elizabeth received many recognitions such as “Dean’s List” every semester, “Academic All-Conference”, “Academic All-State”, and had the honor to be presented the “Murph Award” at the Team Banquet for best GPA on the team throughout her career at Solano.

Her performance led her to a scholarship both academically, and athletically to William Jessup University in Rocklin, CA. At that time, Jessup was under the NAIA D1 umbrella. During Roark’s two years at Jessup the team achieved school history for making the first appearance to the NAIA National Tournament at Rimrock Arena in Billings, Montana. In the 2019-20 season, Roark battled injury her senior year as she tore her ACL before the season began. She elected to play the entire season despite her injury. If you were to ask her about that experience, she would express how she felt as if she was “the living definition of perseverance”.

Roark possesses both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Kinesiology. After receiving her Bachelor’s in Spring 2020, she immediately returned to Solano and was hired onto the coaching staff. During her time for five years and four seasons, was promoted the Associate Head Coach, Strength & Conditioning Coach, an Athletic Academic Mentor, the Athletic Academic Mentor Coordinator, and an Adjunct for both Athletics and Kinesiology.

Elizabeth is grateful for the opportunity to be coaching for Solano: the incredible people, the resources, the facilities, and the nonstop support from all Solano affiliates.
