Solano Battles to 2-2 Draw at De Anza

Solano College women’s soccer fought hard on the road Tuesday afternoon, earning a 2-2 draw against De Anza College in a competitive non-conference matchup.
The Falcons struck first when Zoe Zanassi buried a shot in the 13th minute off an assist from Breanna Davis, putting Solano up 1-0. De Anza answered midway through the first half, as Leilani Loo capitalized on a pass from Xitlaly Martinez in the 31st minute to even the score before halftime.
Solano regained the lead early in the second half when Davis finished a setup from Kalina Osorio in the 55th minute, making it 2-1. The Mountain Lions refused to back down, and Martinez knotted the game again in the 75th minute with an unassisted goal.
Goalkeeping was crucial for both sides. Jasmine Calderon and Hannah Brackfield split time in net for Solano, combining for five saves. Calderon stopped one shot in the first half, while Brackfield recorded four saves in the second. For De Anza, Nina Smith kept her team in the game with eight saves on 10 shots on goal.
With the draw, Solano moves forward with confidence as they continue their early season schedule, next game will be at home September 9th vs. Evergreen College.
