Solano and Contra Costa Battle to a 1-1 Draw

Solano College and Contra Costa College played to a 1-1 tie in Bay Valley Conference action on Friday afternoon. Both teams scored in the first half before the match turned into a defensive battle for the remaining minutes.
Solano struck first when Katelyn Walbolt converted an early opportunity to give the Falcons a 1-0 advantage. Contra Costa answered shortly after with a goal of their own to even the score at 1-1 before halftime. Despite several promising second-half pushes from Solano, neither side could break through again.
Goalkeeper Hannah Brackfield recorded three saves while anchoring the Falcon defense, and Charlotte Seres and Gracie Manley provided key stops in the back line. Offensively, Breanna Davis and Kalina Osorio helped create pressure in the attacking third, while Valerie Pacheco and Aaliyha Padilla held strong.
The draw moves Solano to 4-3-1 in Bay Valley Conference play as they continue their postseason push. The Falcons will close out regular-season conference play against Los Medanos on November 11 at home, 3pm kick off..
