Solano Sweeps Contra Costa to Close Out October Strong

Solano College volleyball continued its dominant Bay Valley Conference run with a decisive 3-0 sweep over Contra Costa on Friday afternoon at home. The Falcons rolled to set wins of 25-15, 25-17, and 25-7, improving their overall record as they head into the final stretch of the regular season.
Setter Kaylie Reyes directed the offense with precision, tallying 12 assists, 8 kills, 13 digs, and adding an ace in a standout all-around performance. Giana Guintu was also a spark for the Falcons, contributing 6 kills, 13 assists, and 4 aces, while Aliyah Aguiar added 6 kills and 2 blocks at the net.
Solano showed balance across the roster, with Lilliana Mass hitting .250 with 4 kills and Kayla Caliboso adding a perfect 3-for-3 line without an error. Defensively, Maui Asuncion and Jasmine Ting anchored the back row with steady serve receive and key digs to keep the Falcons in control throughout the match.
The Falcons hit .194 as a team, including an impressive .344 in the third set, while holding the Comets to zero offensive momentum. Solano also recorded 10 service aces and 6 total blocks in the victory.
Solano (now 8-0 in conference play) will look to carry its winning momentum into November as the Falcons continue their push toward the Bay Valley Conference title and postseason berth.
