Falcons Sweep Shasta in Straight Sets

Solano College volleyball put on a dominant performance Wednesday night, sweeping Shasta College in straight sets (25–16, 25–15, 25–20) on their home floor. The Falcons controlled the pace from the opening serve, posting a .350 hitting percentage as a team while limiting Shasta to just .247.
The Falcons’ offensive attack was well balanced, led by Aliyah Aguiar, who finished with 14 kills while hitting .357. Kaylie Reyes added 11 kills and was steady all evening, and Lilliana Mass was highly efficient with 7 kills and a .500 hitting clip. Setter Giana Guintu directed the offense with 31 assists and chipped in 6 kills and 3 service aces of her own.
From the service line, Solano was sharp, collecting 9 aces. Maui Asuncion and Jasmine Ting each provided energy with strong serving and defense, combining for 15 digs. In total, the Falcons out-dug Shasta 42–36 and put pressure on both sides of the ball.
With the sweep, Solano continues to build momentum early in the season, showcasing efficiency, balance, and confidence as conference play approaches.

Falcons Battle Hard but Fall to De Anza in Straight Sets

In their first match of the day, Solano College volleyball put up a strong fight but fell to De Anza College in straight sets, 17–25, 23–25, 23–25. The Falcons challenged the Dons in the final two frames, but late runs from De Anza secured the sweep.
Solano’s offense found its rhythm as the match went on, finishing with a .229 hitting percentage overall. Kaylie Reyes led the way with 12 kills, 10 digs, and a pair of blocks for a strong all-around performance. Lilliana Mass added 9 kills and 2 blocks, while Aliyah Aguiar contributed 9 kills of her own. Setter Giana Guintu kept the offense flowing with 24 assists, 6 kills, and 11 digs, nearly recording a double-double.
