Solano Outlasts Yuba in Five-Set Thriller
October 29, 2025 – Marysville, CA
The Solano College women’s volleyball team battled through five sets to earn a gritty road victory over Yuba College, winning 3–2 (25–16, 20–25, 19–25, 25–21, 15–10) on Wednesday night.
After a dominant opening set, the Falcons had to regroup as Yuba rallied to take the next two frames. Solano responded with poise and persistence, tightening up defensively and finding offensive rhythm late to claim the fourth set and seal the match in the decisive fifth.
Sophomore outside hitter Lilliana Mass led the attack with 14 kills on an impressive .440 hitting percentage, while Kaylie Reyes posted a strong all-around effort with 10 kills, 12 assists, 3 aces, and 18 digs. Setter Giana Guintu was steady in distribution, tallying 22 assists, 4 aces, and 8 digs.
Aliyah Aguiar also contributed 10 kills and 3 aces, while libero Maui Asuncion and defensive specialist Jasmine Ting anchored the back row with 10 and 12 digs, respectively.
Despite Yuba’s heavy-hitting duo of Fatima Cano (25 kills, .377) and Nyla Afato (11 kills), Solano’s balance and late-set composure proved decisive. The Falcons out-dug the 49ers 68–69 and delivered key serves and blocks when it mattered most.
With the win, Solano improves to 7-0 for its Bay Valley Conference record and continues to build momentum heading into the final stretch of the season. The Falcons will next face Contra Costa 10/31 at home.
